Into The Wild with Jo Corrigan and Matt Donnelly
On Sunday 1 June, we welcome Jo Corrigan and Matt Donnelly from Force of Nature Co in the Macedon Ranges. This lunch, Into the Wild, is a celebration of all produce found in the farms and forests of north-western Victoria.
Matt and Jo are ex-chefs and restaurateurs turned foragers, producers and adventurers. They left their famed (and packed) Johnston Street restaurant, The Commoner, for the open skies and flora of the Macedon Ranges in 2016. Ever since, they've been supplying our restaurant with hard-to-find produce like pine and morel mushrooms and exceptionally grown heirloom vegetables from their own flower farm and market garden in Romsey, east of Hanging Rock.
Their philosophy for cooking is grounded in the joy that preparing seasonal, local produce brings to the table. Together with our head chef, Allan Eccles, they're embracing this mindset, combined with a few classic dishes from The Commoner and ingredients not only grown by Jo and Matt, but local farms dear to them.
Join Jo and Matt for an afternoon of autumnal food, conversation and wine, as we discuss their connection to the land and the way it can shape the way we cook and eat.
