This MIFF: Cumulus and Coppola
Melbourne International Film Festival is back, and our Flinders Lane home places us firmly within its orbit. Just a stone’s throw from the iconic Forum Melbourne, the walk from dinner to your cinema seat is a short one.
This year, we're presenting a screening of Marc by Sofia — Sofia Coppola's first documentary feature, and one of the most anticipated films of the program. Coppola turns her lens on her long-time friend, designer Marc Jacobs: two artists who have shaped each other's work for three decades, captured with the intimacy that only close friendship allows.
The pairing feels natural — since opening, Cumulus has called a turn-of-the-century rag-trade warehouse in Melbourne’s fashion precinct home, making an evening of fashion, friendship and craft a fitting occasion at our table.
